Terms of Service
Last updated: October 13, 2026
DiscoFed is a Mastodon client focused on music discovery. By creating an account or using DiscoFed, you agree to these terms.
DiscoFed is a work in progress
DiscoFed is currently in beta. Things might break, features might change, and the service may occasionally be unavailable.
We're doing our best to make it reliable, but we can't promise that everything will always work or that your data will always be available. DiscoFed may also change significantly or shut down in the future.
Your Mastodon account
You need a Mastodon account to use DiscoFed. You're responsible for your account and for following the rules of your Mastodon server.
When you boost, favorite, or reply to a post through DiscoFed, those actions are sent to Mastodon on your behalf.
DiscoFed is an independent project and isn't affiliated with Mastodon or the operators of individual Mastodon servers.
Content and music
DiscoFed helps you discover music shared on Mastodon, but we don't create or control the posts or music that appear in the app.
Sometimes DiscoFed will identify something incorrectly or show content that isn't actually music. Finding something through DiscoFed doesn't mean we endorse it.
Music playback and other content are provided by third-party services such as Bandcamp, Spotify, SoundCloud, Apple Music, and YouTube. Those services have their own terms, rules, and restrictions. The content belongs to its respective creators and rights holders.
Be reasonable
Please don't use DiscoFed to harass people, break laws, interfere with the service, access other people's accounts, or abuse the systems it relies on.
We may suspend or remove accounts that abuse the service or put other users at risk.
If you find a bug or security issue, we'd appreciate you reporting it rather than exploiting it.
Your account and feedback
You can stop using DiscoFed and delete your account whenever you like.
If you send us suggestions, bug reports, or other feedback, we may use that feedback to improve DiscoFed without compensation or other obligations.
No guarantees
DiscoFed is provided as-is, without guarantees about availability, accuracy, reliability, or continued operation.
To the extent allowed by law, DiscoFed and its operator aren't responsible for losses or damages resulting from using the service, including interruptions, lost data, or problems with third-party services. Nothing here limits rights or liabilities that can't legally be excluded.
These terms are governed by Illinois law, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as DiscoFed develops. We'll update the date at the top when that happens and provide notice of significant changes when reasonably practical.
